JAMB has not yet announced the registration dates or fees for the 2027 UTME. We will update this page as soon as it does.
Quick answers
Has 2027 UTME registration started? No. We have not seen an official announcement of dates.
When will it open? Not confirmed. In 2026, registration ran from January 26 to February 28, so an early-year window is likely, but that is our guess, not JAMB’s word.
How much will it cost? Not announced. In 2026 the e-PIN cost N7,200 (UTME only) or N8,700 (UTME with mock).
RECOMMENDED: Approved jamb cbt centres in nigeria and abroad
What is already confirmed? First-session candidates must now arrive at their CBT centre by 7:30 a.m., not 6:30 a.m.
What JAMB has confirmed for 2027
Three things are on record so far, and none of them is a registration date.
New arrival time. Candidates in the first session of the 2027 UTME must arrive by 7:30 a.m. instead of 6:30 a.m. JAMB announced this in its weekly bulletin after its management retreat on September 6 to 11, 2026, citing the safety risks of travelling before dawn.
No UTME for some Colleges of Education courses. From the 2027 admission cycle, candidates for education and agriculture (non-engineering) programmes in Colleges of Education will not need to write the UTME. Universities and polytechnics offering similar courses still require it.
Minimum admission age stays at 16 for all tertiary institutions.
Not confirmed yet
Registration dates, e-PIN price, exam dates and the full timetable. Treat any site that gives exact 2027 dates as unconfirmed until JAMB publishes them.
What changed from 2026
Affiliated degrees in Colleges of Education are closed. From the 2026/2027 session, the NCE is the only entry route into Colleges of Education. Candidates who choose the NCE route and are recommended for admission will have any ongoing UTME or Direct Entry admission process suspended.
O’Level verification is now compulsory for candidates under the new NCE and ND Agric guidelines, to block fake or altered results.
Affected 2026 candidates have options. They can change institution at no cost, move to the parent university, or make their second choice their first.
Age rule for admission (2026). Candidates had to be at least 16 by September 30, 2026. Those under 16 could sit the UTME but needed at least 80% at each stage, and JAMB warned this does not guarantee an offer. Check whether the same cut-off date applies in 2027.
2026 dates and fees (for reference only)
These were the 2026 figures. Do not treat them as 2027 dates.
| Item | 2026 |
|---|---|
| E-PIN vending (UTME) | Jan 19 to Feb 26 |
| UTME registration | Jan 26 to Feb 28 |
| Optional mock-UTME | Mar 28 |
| Direct Entry forms and E-PIN | Mar 2 to Apr 25 |
| UTME | Apr 16 to Apr 25 |
| Candidates registered | Over 2.2 million |
| E-PIN type | Price (N) |
|---|---|
| Direct Entry | 5,700 |
| UTME only, without mock | 7,200 |
| UTME with mock | 8,700 |
The UTME-only price of N7,200 was made up of the JAMB application fee (N3,500), reading text (N1,000), CBT centre registration service charge (N700), CBT centre UTME service charge (N1,500) and bank charges (N500). The mock added N1,500.
How to register (based on the 2026 process)
JAMB usually repeats the same steps each year, but confirm each one on JAMB’s official site once 2027 registration opens.
- Get your profile code. Generate it with the phone number and NIN you plan to use for the whole process.
- Buy your e-PIN. Choose the UTME-only or UTME-with-mock type.
- Go to a JAMB-accredited CBT centre. Register there and complete your biometric capture.
- Choose your institutions and course. Double-check spellings and codes before you submit.
- Confirm your slip. Make sure biometric capture and confirmation are done, or you risk disqualification.
Do not wait for the last week. In 2026 JAMB ruled out any extension, and registration centres were using only about 30% of their daily capacity while it warned candidates against late rushes.
