The Waitlist Is Not the Application
The biggest mistake people are making with Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration is treating the waitlist like the main thing. It is not. The waitlist is simply a queue. It puts you in line to receive the actual application email before slots get filled . The real registration window has not opened yet, and nobody has announced the exact date.
Here at myschoolflo, we have watched people miss opportunities because they confused a notice with a deadline. This post clears that up. By the end, you will know what is confirmed, what is still speculation, and what you should be doing right now instead of refreshing a page that has nothing new on it.

What We Actually Know About Abia TechRise Cohort 4 Registration
The programme is real. The Abia State Government is preparing the fourth cohort of its digital skills initiative, run in partnership with the 17 Local Government Councils and LearnFactory Nigeria . Previous cohorts trained hundreds of young people, and more than 88 graduates from earlier batches were absorbed into the state civil service.
But Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration itself has not commenced. Reports from late September and early October 2026 consistently say the same thing: applications are expected to open soon, but no official date has been released . The waitlist is the only active step right now.
Do not pay anyone who claims they can “register you” for Cohort 4. The portal is not open. Anyone collecting money for registration at this stage is selling you air.
The Documents That Will Decide Your Fate
Two things are non negotiable. Your National Identification Number, your NIN, must be active and linked to your phone number. And you need your ABSINN, the Abia State Social Identification Number. Some sources call it ABSSIN, the Social Investment Number, but the function is the same . It is the state identity number that ties you to government benefits and programmes.
You can generate your ABSINN on the AbiaPay platform using your BVN, your NIN, or simply your email and phone number . The email and phone route is the most reliable for people who hit “insufficient funds” prompts when using BVN or NIN . Do it now. Save the number. Screenshot it. Write it down. Do not wait until the application portal is staring at you.
Who Should Even Bother With Abia TechRise Cohort 4 Registration
The eligibility criteria have shifted between cohorts, and the sources for Cohort 4 are not fully aligned. Reports suggest an age range of 16 to 40, intermediate computer skills, and Abia indigene or resident status . Cohort 3 used 18 to 35 and only basic computer skills .
What has not changed is the commitment. This is a residential programme. You live on camp for the full duration, roughly three months, with about 10 hours of daily training . Cohort 3 explicitly disqualified full time workers, civil servants without written study leave, full time undergraduates, nursing mothers, and anyone who could not stay on camp for the entire period .
Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration is not for people who want a certificate to hang on the wall. It is for people who can disappear from normal life for three months and come back with a skill, a laptop, and a network.
What You Get If You Make It Through
The package is genuinely attractive. Intensive digital skills training in tracks like cybersecurity, UI/UX, product management, and software development. A free laptop. Accommodation and meals covered. High speed internet. Professional certifications. Mentorship. And for top performers, a shot at employment with the state government .
The laptop comes with a condition. Cohort 3 required a guarantor for collection . Expect similar accountability for Cohort 4. The state is investing in you, and they want to know you will not vanish with the hardware.
Why You Should Prepare Now Instead of Waiting for the Announcement
Cohort 3 opened and closed in nine days. The application portal for Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration will not stay open for weeks while you sort out your NIN and ABSINN. The people who get in are the ones who were ready before the announcement.
Get on the waitlist. Confirm your NIN is active. Generate your ABSINN and keep it somewhere safe. Clear your schedule mentally for a three month residential commitment. Then watch the official channels. Not random WhatsApp forwards. Not a blog that copied another blog. The announcement will come from the people running the programme.

Has Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration officially opened?
No. As of the latest available information, the application portal has not opened. Only the waitlist is active. The waitlist ensures you receive the application email before slots fill up, but it is not the application itself.
Do I need to be an Abia indigene to apply?
The programme is primarily for Abia State indigenes and residents. However, previous cohorts allowed a limited number of slots for non Abians . The final eligibility for Cohort 4 will be confirmed when the official announcement is made.
What is ABSINN and why do I need it?
ABSINN stands for Abia State Social Identification Number. It is the state identity number used to access government services and benefits, and it is expected to be required for TechRise registration . You can generate it on the AbiaPay platform using your BVN, NIN, or email and phone number.
Can I apply if I am currently working or in school?
The programme is residential and demands full time commitment for roughly three months. Cohort 3 disqualified full time workers, civil servants without written study leave, and full time undergraduates . The same principle likely applies for Cohort 4. You need to be free to live on camp and train daily.
How long will the application window stay open?
Cohort 3 gave applicants about nine days . Do not expect a long window. Prepare your documents now so that when the portal opens, you are submitting, not scrambling.
Is the programme free?
Yes. The training is fully funded by the Abia State Government. Participants receive a free laptop, accommodation, meals, and internet access at no cost . The only investment is your time and commitment.
Finally
Abia TechRise Cohort 4 registration is coming, but it is not here yet. The waitlist is your foot in the door. Your NIN and ABSINN are your keys. Your ability to commit three months of your life to serious training is the lock you have to turn yourself.
Here at myschoolflo, we keep it plain because the opportunity is too good for confusion. Get ready now. Watch the official channels. And when the portal opens, be the person who submits in ten minutes, not the person who is still looking for their NIN slip.
